- The Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) closed lower on Wednesday, similarly to other Asian stock indices, as Middle East tensions fanned uncertainty and inflation concerns.
- The Philippine government’s outstanding debt rose by 11.16% year-on-year to PHP 18.13 trillion in January on accelerated borrowing during the month.
- Wall Street indices closed higher on Wednesday as rebounding demand for tech stocks offset global market uncertainty.
- Bank of Japan Governor Kazuo Ueda said that the central bank will continue raising interest rates, but warned of growth risks that come with Middle East tensions.
- The Indian rupee hit a record low against the US dollar on Wednesday as US-Iran tensions placed the country’s growth and current account deficit at higher risk.
